Mountaineering in Sichuan
In Sichuan province, there are a lot of beautiful mountains, where we can develop mountaineering activities. Since 1979 the Chinese Central government began to open Chinese mountains to foreign groups coming to China for mountaineering expedition, the well-known Mt. Gongga. Mt Siguniang, Mt. Genie, Mt. Queer, Mt Haizi and Mt. Xuebaoding have attracted many alpinists and mountaineering enthusiasts coming from various parts of the world.
During the past 10 years, Chengdu Mountain and River International Special Tours Co. Ltd (CSTCD), has received more than 80 foreign climbing groups from more than 10 countries and religions, including Japan, Korea, France, Germany, Britain, Switzerland, Canada and Hong Kong. All these activities help the foreigners increase their knowledge about Sichuan and enhance their friendship with Chinese people. The CSTCD has organized a lot of important expeditions. Mountaineer the Cho Oyu Mountain In 1994, Cstcd successful organized the Mountaineering group from Canada Geology Investigation Insititute to mountaineer the Cho Oyu Mountain of Himalaya
Mountaineer the Gongga Mountain. 1993, we helped the Mountaineering group from France ascend Mt. Gongga for 20 days. They ended the mountaineering 80 meters away from the Summint .
Mountaineering the Siguniang Moutnain In 1993, we hosted 16 Hong Kong mountaineers, and helped them ascend to the summit of the oldest sister peak successfully. In the later years, we have successfully organized numerious mountaineering groups from Korea and Japan ascending to the summit of the oldest sister peak
Mountaineering the Five-Color Mountain In May of 2002, with our help, 20 mountaineers from Korea Yue Association have ascended to the top of the virgin peak--Five-Color Mountain.
Mountaineering the Yala Holy Mountain. In Nov. of 2002, we organized the Korea mountaineering party to climb the virgin peak---Yala Holy Mountain (5280 meters above sea level), stopped at the place 100 meters away from the top.
